Pottery in Kandern has a long tradition. Until 1900, primarily tableware was produced by a great number of potters. Another speciality was oven tiles. Later, ceramists created works of art, and for a time, even art manufactories were established.

Potters Market

This is a traditional market, taking place on the historical square "Blumenplatz" in the centre of the town in September. A selected number of workshops from Germany and abroad display their art work during a weekend, enjoying contacts among each other and with enthusiasts of fine ceramic. A colourful event not to miss!
